PROJECT OVERVIEW: Belgium-based ABB ALSTOM POWER, the developer of the Rades II, 470 Mw combined-cycle power plant, recently awarded a civil works contract to ARABIAN INTERNATIONAL CONSTRUCTION (AIC) of Egypt. The cost to complete the planned undertaking has been pegged at $20,000,000.
AIC also bid in joint venture with one of its affiliates, KAHROMICA, for the planned electrical and mechanical works to be implemented at the power complex. The cost of this project is expected to amount to some $30,000,000.
AIC employs a total staff of about 1,400 and acts as a general contractor.
