Jan. 13--In a deal that should result in job growth in its home office, Omaha's World Insurance Co. announced Thursday that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire a North Carolina health insurance company.
World Insurance plans to purchase Mid-South Insurance Co., a Fayetteville, N.C.-based unit of Trigon Healthcare Inc., which is one of Virginia's largest managed-care companies. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
World Insurance President Tom Eilers said in a press release that the acquisition should result in some growth in the company's operations staff in Omaha. Company spokesman Randy Grosse said World Insurance doesn't plan to hire any ...
