SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Anesta Corp. (Nasdaq: NSTA) reported a net loss for the year ended December 31, 1999 of $9,486,781, or $0.72 a share, compared to a net loss of $15,716,869, or $1.59 a share for the year ended December 31, 1998. The net loss for the quarter ended December 31, 1999 was $1,884,317 or $0.14 a share, compared to a net loss of $5,682,722, or $0.53 a share for the quarter ended December 31, 1998. The decrease in net loss resulted primarily from new revenue from Actiq(R) (oral transmucosal fentanyl citrate) product sales, and increased license fees and milestone payments from partnership agreements.
