Article: SHARES OF MURDOCH'S NEWS CORP DROP DRAMATICALLY.

MELBOURNE, Jan 12 Asia Pulse - Shares in Rupert Murdoch's News Corp Ltd went down dramatically in opening trade on the Sydney Stock Exchange this morning, falling back to earth from yesterday's dizzy 28 per cent rise.

News Corp shares dropped $A2.163 ($US1.42), or 11.63 per cent, to $16.44 by 1015 AEDT, while its preferred scrip slid $2.20 or 13.37 per cent to $14.25 in an overall lower market.

By 1110 AEDT the company's ordinary shares had drifted back slightly but still down $1.80 $16.65. The preferred scip was down a similar amount ($1.81) at $14.65.

AT AEDT 1120 the benchmark all ordinaries index had plunged 45.1 points at 3119.5.
