Variable life sales are picking up at various broker-dealerships across the country, report four b/d executives.
But the channel needs more product education and support, so that sales can move to the next level, they said in interviews with National Underwriter following a panel discussion in which they discussed VL. The panel was held at a New Orleans VL conference sponsored by National Association for Variable Annuities.
"Education is a must," said Sheri Ryan, vice president and director of marketing at Mutual Service Corp, of West Palm Beach, Fla. "VL is a complex product, and there is a learning curve involved for people who sell it."
