Our annual MDF world capacity update continues with Part II covering Asia Pacific and the rest of the world. The most significant change this year is that for the first time, we report capacities of the 106 Chinese mills -- around four times the number previously listed.

Following part one of of our capacity update covering Europe and North America (Aug/Sept 1998, p10), we begin our comment on Part II with the customary review of Asia and `the rest of the world'. It is followed by a global outlook which includes highlights of part I.
