STAMFORD, Conn., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Unico, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: UICO) Chairman, Jay R. Weppler, has announced Unico's signing of a Letter of Intent dated December 30, 1999 to acquire Independent News, Inc., a freely distributed newspaper in northern New Jersey. Subject to the terms of the Letter of Intent, and Unico's due diligence of Independent News, the acquisition is scheduled to be consummated within 90 days from the date of its signing. Over the past 13 years the Independent News has grown to a circulation of 110,000. This is made up of two weekly editions and three monthly editions.
