There are many places in the world to bathe in alleged curative waters. One of them is the Dead Sea, a salt lake in a hot, dry region on the Jordan-Israel border.
Fed by the Jordan River, the area is the lowest point on earth, some 1,302 feet below sea level.
Due to its high salt content, the Dead Sea is reknowned as the waters where nothing can live and no one can drown. The area is also claimed as a healing habitat due to high levels of potassium, calcium, magnesium, bromide, zinc and copper in both the waters and seamud.
