NEES cuts rates to get approval
New England Electric System yesterday agreed to cut rates in Rhode Island by $100 million over four years to win regulatory approval there of its $1.03 billion acquisition of Eastern Utilities Associates.
The two companies have subsidiaries in Rhode Island. - HERALD STAFF
IPO nets 7% gain
Shares of HealthGate Data Corp., a Burlington Web site for medical and health information, registered only a modest 7 percent gain yesterday on its first day of trading.
