CLOVERDALE, Ind.--Truck bed liner companies are cropping up all over as the product gains consumer awareness and moves upscale.
Scorpion Truck Bed Linings Inc. is not the largest purveyor of the product, but something else sets it apart from its competitors.
The manufacturer and distributor has found a way to simplify its application process to reduce the total costs of equipment, materials, start-up chemicals and training to only $1,500.
The cost of chemicals in Scorpion's process is comparable to competitors'. The main cost savings is in the equipment, said Terry Moore, Scorpion director of marketing.
