Jan. 30--SAN FRANCISCO--It took less than a year for Hope and Will Chen to become millionaires -- eight months, to be exact.
The husband and wife team, recent graduates of Harvard Business School, started their Silicon Valley company in September 1998. By April 1999, they had sold their Internet start-up, Billpoint Inc., which provided technology for credit card transactions, to eBay Inc. for $125 million in stock.
Will Chen, now 31 and on his second start-up, says it's the kind of story that makes budding entrepreneurs think: "I can do this."
