Snoring is more than just a minor annoyance: the largest study yet says it may be linked to an increased risk of heart disease.
The Brigham and Women's Hospital study found that women who snored had from a 20 to a 33 percent increased risk of cardiovascular disease, depending on whether they snored occasionally or on a regular basis.
"This is the first big study on snoring involving women," said Dr. Meir Stampfer, lead author of a paper published in today's issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
