Article: Masisa invests in new capacity.

Masisa Argentina SA, part of Latin America's leading wood panel producer Maderas y Sinteticos SA (Masisa) of Chile, plans to double capacity for laminated board at its Concordia complex in Argentina.

The company will invest US$10m to install a second low pressure laminating line which has a 310,000[m.sup.3]/yr particle-board and MDF capacity.

Meanwhile, the firm's Santiago-based parent is considering a major panel project for Brazil. The green light is expected in October for a US$60m investment in a new mill to make MDF.

As WBPI, went to press, confirmation was awaited that the project would be a joint venture ...
