SEOUL, Feb 2 Asia Pulse - Foreign-owned land in the country as of Dec. 31 last year totaled 81.17 million square meters, the Construction and Transportation Ministry said Wednesday.

The volume of land purchased by foreigners has increased rapidly since the liberalization of the real estate market in June 1998. A total of 4.85 million square meters valued at 1.29 trillion won (US$1.15 billion) were bought by foreigners during the fourth quarter last year alone.
