If you visit the "Free PC" message boards online, you'll find most Gobi customers are satisfied with their systems. Fast, reliable Internet access is one reason, and responsive, toll-free customer service is another. The Gobi System is also easier to configure than other subsidized machines, but that convenience comes at a price-it was the most expensive unit of the bunch, with a total cost of $1,224.63. But its initial out-of-pocket expense of $288.99 is competitive with the other subsidized PCs.
