LONDON -- Space NK Apothecary, facing a slew of imitators and competitors, has taken the private label road to help maintain its growth.
The beauty retailer here has launched a private label line of fragrance, body and skin care and home fragrance products, introduced last fall in Space NK's 15 stores in the U.K. The line's launch coincides with the opening of the retailer's first spa, called SPAce NK, and its largest store yet. The spa and store are on a 6,000-square-foot site in Westbourne Grove in London, which includes 1,500-square-feet of retail space. Previous Space NKs have averaged 1,000-square-feet in size.
