Cherry is the furniture wood of choice, according to tallies at the High Point National Furniture Market in October 1999. Nearly 20% of the furniture shown at the Market was made in cherry. The survey is sponsored by the American Walnut Manufacturers Association, Appalachian Hardwood Manufacturers, Inc. and the Hardwood Plywood & Veneer Association.
