First new 'national' gallery for 100 years will have free admission for all.

Tate Modern -- the first new national gallery in Britain for more than 100 years - will have free admission for all, Culture Secretary Chris Smith said today. The Tate Gallery's overall grant-in-aid from the Culture Department will increase by GBP5 million from next year, and GBP6 million per annum thereafter.
