As 2000 gets under way and expenses for contending with Year 2000 technical glitches pass from their budgets, three of five media companies report that their capital spending plans are, while limited, up from recent years. Internet-related growth will suck up some capital dollars, although companies are beginning to spin those costs off into web companies of their own.
