Feb. 12--The leader of the union representing striking Boeing engineers and technical workers lashed out at the federal government Friday, claiming government workers were being used as strikebreakers.
Charles Bofferding, executive director of the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) made the accusation after learning the Federal Aviation Administration plans to use its own employees to make critical inspections necessary before an airplane can be sold.
It was the latest in a topsy-turvy series of events.
