Feb. 19--This year's Kern County Cattleman and Cattlewoman of the Year winners may not have been born into the cattle industry, but they are recognized as well-established leaders in the community as well as on the home front.
Bruce Hafenfeld of Weldon and Debi Twisselman of the western Kern County area of Temblor Range are being honored by their peers in the cattle industry.
They will be recognized at the Kern County Cattleman and Cattlewoman associations dinner awards ceremony tonight at the Holiday Inn Select Hotel in Bakersfield, said Alice Rankin Beard, last year's Cattlewoman of the Year, who
is helping to organize the event.
