The story, "Tribes rip Harvard for keeping relics" (Feb. 22) is another example of the rape of Native Americans by the white man. For Michael Volman, curator of the Fruitlands Museum, to say, "Some things we have repatriated had real capital value. It's a legalized divestment with no compensation. That's just plain unfair," shows his blatant disregard for these spiritual remains and for the rights of Native Americans.
Someone should inform Volman that these relics never belonged to the museum. They were obtained by the desecration of graves and ceremonial grounds. Perhaps someone should dig up the bones of Volman's great-grandfather and put them on display and ...
