I'm not sure where it all started. Maybe it was an excerpt about the pay difference between women and men, picked up from the AP wire by The Picayune Item (my local newspaper), or seeing Gloria Steinem on one of her many Donahue appearances. Maybe it was seeing a story on "grrrl zines" in Time magazine and wanting to know more. Somehow, though I became a radical feminist at the age of fourteen in the small community of Carriere, Mississippi and to know that certain things were okay.
