NEW YORK - Marty McSorley was a no-show for his disciplinary hearing yesterday at National Hockey League headquarters, but even if the stick-wielding Bruin had crawled across Colin Campbell's office on his knees, the NHL justice minister would probably have not waivered in pronouncing sentence: suspension for the remaining 23 games of the regular season and for any playoff contests.
In addition, McSorley, whose two-handed smash at the end of the Bruins game at Vancouver Monday night sent the Canucks' Donald Brashear crashing unconscious to the ice with a concussion, must petition league commissioner Gary Bettman for re-instatement prior to next season.
