WASHINGTON, Feb.24, (UPI)
The State Department blasted China's crackdown on dissidents, religious groups and Tibet on Friday, saying that Beijing's "human rights record deteriorated markedly" last year.
The comments are part of an annual State Department survey of human rights practices in nations around the world. The report highlights such transnational problems as the up to two million people around the world enslaved as prostitutes and forced laborers by "human trafficking...one of the fastest growing and most lucrative businesses."
