Pat Metheny is one happy guy. Especially these days.

"I'm enjoying being on Earth," the guitarist said with a laugh from his home in New York. "It's a blast."

Take Wednesday night, for example. Metheny nabbed his 13th Grammy Award, this time for his contribution to the album "Like Minds" that also features Chick Corea, Gary Burton, Roy Haynes and Dave Holland.

But that's not what brings the former Cantabridgian back to his old stomping grounds next weekend.

When he appears with drummer Bill Stewart and bassist Larry Grenadier for two shows at the Somerville Theatre on Sunday, Metheny will be celebrating the release of his newest CD, ...
