The debate on genetically modified foods rages on even though there is very little information to suggest that these products may tamper with the building blocks of our lives. So far, no problems. In the future, who knows? Do we ban progress or take a leap of faith in this new technology? The jury remains out. If you look at the global picture, proponents for genetically modified food say it will alleviate starvation and ease poverty in developing countries. On the other hand, for consumers in more sophisticated countries who have a choice, there is a clear trend towards GM-free foods.
