LAS VEGAS -- The Las Vegas Convention Center, which has grown amoeba-like over the last several years, will embark on a 1.2 million-square-foot expansion in late March or early April.
The $150 million expansion is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2001 and will represent a 40 percent expansion from the Convention Center's current 1.9 million square feet. Bonds to finance the project have been sold and the Convention Center is now in a bidding process to select a general contractor.
The new space will either be contiguous or adjacent to the south wing, according to Convention Center spokesman Rob Powers. For those familiar with the ...
