MIDDLEBURY, Conn.--Uniroyal Chemical Co. Inc. plans to build a large-scale pilot plant at its Elmira, Ontario, manufacturing site.
Construction is expected to begin in spring, and the plant should be operational in early 1999, the company said.
"The purpose of this pilot plant is twofold," said Walter K. Ruck, Uniroyal Chemical vice president of operations. "Not only will it allow us to better design full-scale processes and equipment which can be used by other Uniroyal Chemical locations, but it will allow us to be even more customer-responsive by providing larger samples on a more timely basis to customers when they need it."
