Akira Davida White's arrival yesterday at Columbia Hospital for Women was marked with a big birthday party.
Some might think that the celebration, which included balloons, gifts, cake and punch, was rather big for a newborn. It had to be. As a leap-day child, born on Feb. 29, Akira won't see her birthday again for another four years.
Four years. That can be a long time to wait.
Being a leap-day baby is "very special," said Tiffani Warren, who celebrated her "seventh" birthday yesterday at Columbia Hospital where she was born - in 1972.
