PROJECT OVERVIEW
The local ORIENTAL UNINON CHEMICAL CO. is currently gearing-up to build what is claimed to be the world's largest ethyl carbonate (EC) plant. In so doing, the company recently secured the needed process technology from Japan-based TOAGOSEI CHEMICAL INDUSTRY CO. and ASAHI CHEMICAL INDUSTRY CO.
Construction plans under consideration call for building a factory with an installed production capacity of 40,000 tons per year. The new facility, of undisclosed cost, is scheduled to become operational by some time during the second quarter of the year 2001.
