PROJECT OVERVIEW

A Brazilian joint venture, operating under the name of RIO POLIMEROS, is currently gearing-up to build an ethylene cracker and a polyethylene (PE) complex in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The partners in the planned undertaking include UNIPAR, SUZANO, PETROLEO BRASILEIRO S.A. (PETROBRAS) and BNDES, a Brazilian economic development bank.

Construction plans call for building an ethylene plant with an installed production capacity of 590,000 metric tons per year (mt/y).
