SYDNEY, March 1 Asia Pulse - Rupert Murdoch's News Corp has pulled off a master deal, establishing another powerful foothold in Asia without paying a cent.
News Corp has avoided paying $US1 billion to Singapore Telecom, but still managed to keep a lucrative strategic partnership with the Asian telecommunications giant.
"Isn't this a story we have heard before? Everyone gets into a fight and Rupert Murdoch comes out better for it. He has done it yet again," ABN Amro director of media analysts Jeremy Beale told AAP.
