Sony's latest LCD projector, the VPL-CS1 SuperLite LCD Projector, brings to the spotlight a number of firsts for both Sony and the genre. It's among the first projectors to use three 0.7-inch SVGA polysilicon LCDs, and, at an estimated price of $2,999, it's one of the most affordable units available.
This low price opens up the portable projector market to small- and home-office users, who typically have been unable to spring for the $5,000-plus models that dominate the category. Sony targets this new audience with convenient features.
