Feb. 26--LODI, Calif.--Lodi Memorial Hospital lost $481,000 in January despite a financial recovery plan that included laying off some 45 employees last year.
"Our financial recovery plan is moving more slowly than we would like," said Carol Farron, community development director. "We do have a shortfall right now, and we continue to monitor programs and services and look at ways we can find some savings."
Officials had anticipated seeing an improvement in the hospital's finances when the books were closed in January.
