IN A MARKET that continues to struggle with receding demand and bottom-level pricing, sodium sulfate producers have banded together to promote the consumption and use of their product and improve the health of their industry. As sales falter and traditional markets decline, producers are taking steps to revive the ailing sodium sulfate industry.

The newly formed Global Sodium Sulfate Association (GSSA) represents five major producers. IMC Global led the formation of the non-profit organization, and four other industry leaders--US-based Cooper Natural Resources Inc., Crimidesa SA of Spain, Quimica Del Ray SA of Mexico and SA Suiquisa of Spain-also helped launch it. ...
