Vladimir Zhirinovsky has sent a letter to acting President Putin, acting Prosecutor-General Vladimir Ustinov, Justice Minister Yurii Chaika, Supreme Court Chairman Vyacheslav Lebedev and Constitutional Court Chairman Marat Baglai asking for help in his quest to gain registration as a presidential candidate, Russian Public Television reported on 1 March. The Supreme Court recently turned down Zhirinovsky's appeal against his exclusion. Although Zhirinovsky is appealing that decision to the Supreme Court's presidium, he clearly does not want to put all his eggs in one basket.
