A European yachtsman has contracted Alloy Yachts International of Auckland, New Zealand, to build a 53m, ketch. Designed by Dubois Naval Architects, the yacht will be fitted with carbon fiber spars and in-boom furling. Tank testing has been done on the hull and a number of keel options have been considered. The design selected will be easily driven, offer good stability and have a draft of 4.75 meters.
