German telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom has signed a contract for the sale of 55% of the shares in its cable network in North-Rhine Westphalia, in the West of the country, to American company Callahan Associates International. Deutsche Telekom will keep the remaining 45% stake in the Land's network. No financial details were disclosed, but according to a report in the German daily Handelsblatt, the transaction is believed to be worth about 5 billion Deutschemarks (Euro 2.56 billion).
