When Bill Truesdale was 12, he used his paper route money to pay a professional dog handler to show his boxer to best advantage. It's that competitive spirit that carried Truesdale and his wife, Tina, from Massachusetts to New York's Madison Square Garden last week, where two of their show dogs took high honors at the 124th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.
Truesdale, now a veterinarian in Seekonk, wasn't born into a dog-showing family, but he fell in love with the sport after a dog breeder invited him to bring his boxer to a show.
