SUMMARY
International sourcing has emerged as an integral part of firms' competitive advantage building. In spite of increasing management attention to international sourcing, the literature is predominately based on U.S. research. Taking into account the impact of a firm's operational environment upon its sourcing strategies, the applicability of the existing knowledge outside the United States is highly questionable. This study provides new insights into the understanding of international sourcing from the unique perspective of Australia-located manufacturers.
