Article: Gates Gives Multi-Million Donations.(Brief Article)

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation said it had received $20 million donation, the largest in its 44-year history, from a charity established by Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates and his wife.

The grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will support drug development for treatment of cystic fibrosis, an inherited disease marked by a tendency for lung infections and poor absorption of fats and other nutrients in food. It afflicts 30,000 Americans and 70,000 people worldwide.
