The Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida ("BBA") is a voluntary bar association comprised of over 300 bankruptcy practitioners in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. The BBA was founded in 1981. In 1984 the BBA started a formal pro bono program that has evolved and grown stronger over the fifteen years of its existence. In its early stages, the BBA Pro Bono committee received the majority of its clients through referrals from the bankruptcy court. For nearly a decade individual members of the BBA have worked thousands of hours on pro bono cases through "Put Something Back," in Miami-Dade County, "Broward Lawyers Care" in Broward County, ...
