Syria does not have oil tankers for marine shipping or storage facilities overseas. But its logistics within the country are adequate. There are two oil export terminals on the Mediterranean, one at Banias and another Tartous. There is a general cargo port and a small tanker terminal at Lattakia.

The terminals are operated by the Syrian Company for Oil Transport (SCOT), a sister of the state-owned Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC), created in 1973 and attached to the oil ministry. SCOT is in charge of the oil pipelines in the country as well.
