How Much Am I Supposed to Tolerate?
J. Eric Hazell ("The Trouble with Tolerance," November/December 1999) asks, "But if you take the proselytizing out of evangelicalism ... what exactly are you tolerating?" I moved to southern Tennessee nine years ago. My son and daughter moved to South Carolina and Alabama. Shortly thereafter I imagined myself to be "tolerant." Now I wonder how tolerant it is wise to be.
