EASTENDERS star Mike Reid last night fought back the tears as he spoke of his devastation over his wife Shirley's affair and desperate suicide bid.
In an extraordinarily moving interview, Mike, 59, told the Sunday People: "It ripped my guts out when I learned Shirley was cheating on me.
"I would rather have been stabbed in the stomach than ever consider she would be unfaithful. The whole thing hurt me beyond anything I can ever remember."
