Black Silk is worth another chance to prove his critics wrong in the Chris Blackwell Memorial Handicap (4.15) at Newmarket today.
We were on him at Kempton early this month, and though he ran perfectly well in terms of form, beaten little more than a length into third place at decent odds, there was a suspicion that he could have won with a bit more effort.
That apparent lack of commitment is the big doubt about him, but the Tote have surely overdone ...
