INEVITABLY you will find many far-flung destinations so unspoilt they seem like paradise.
For those of you looking for a more practical destination, however, I suggest the comfortable confines of northern Italy.
Italy is so accessible to the British tourist carrying with him or her a phrase book and of course a hearty appetite. You may reach Italy by air or, alternatively, travel with one of the many coach operators who organise ready-made tours at very reasonable prices. For greater exploration still, your own transport is perfect.
