AS a regular Mercury reader I look forward, especially at this time of year, to your travel pages.
A teacher by profession and a geography graduate, I am lucky enough to be widely travelled with my family.
We had decided on Crete to meet the requirements of my husband (history, culture and photography), myself (sun, sea and sand) and our 16-year-old daughter (sun, sea and discos).
We chose a hotel right on the beach in the north-west of the island, approximately 10km from Rethymnon, provincial capital and the third largest city in Crete.
