WHY did Sophie put a wedding ring on Edward's little finger?
WHILE Edward was clearly following his brothers in wearing a wedding ring on his little finger there appears to be more history behind it.
As we all know there is a great deal of German blood in our Royal Family and continental aristocrats have apparently always exchanged gold bands.
It would therefore appear that when Sophie, Countess of Wessex, placed the gold ring on Edward's little finger it followed both of these traditions.
